I would like to sign and support the letter about saving the school. It is a special place that is really being abused by upper administration; faculty have essentially lost retirement benefits. The campus feels like a ghost town with almost no events or student engagement.
It’s a shame because there is so much potential on that campus and the students are incredible. Unfortunately, I had to leave Whittier College because they were unwilling/unable to offer me a tenure track position due to lack of funding. They have been using temporary faculty for the past decade in many key departments around the campus with little to no continuity, which is taking away from the development of unique research opportunities, club activities, and involvement.
All the best,
